My name is Sarah and I am a 1:1 tutor with 15 years teaching experience. I qualified with a primary PGCE and an Early Years Specialism (0-7year olds) and have since had experience teaching all ages from pre-school to year 6; I currently teach part-time in a Foundation Stage Unit. I am also a mum of three (6yrs, 10yrs and 12yrs) and love finding creative ways for us to learn together at home and outdoors.
I started online tutoring in 2020 and stumbled across a new passion! Since then, I have worked with primary school age children from all year groups, abilities and with a range of needs to grow confidence, build on subject knowledge and understanding and help them develop a love of learning! I do this through varied and personalised sessions, engaging activities and vitally, through working in partnership with parents to support and empower their children to achieve their full potential. This partnership has also enabled me to be involved in the diagnosis process for several children to also get the support and understanding they need at school.
My sessions remain online and although my spaces are currently full, I am running a waiting list for these. In the meantime I am happy to give remote support and also have a wide range of resources on this website.
Please get in touch to find out how I can support you and your child - I would love to hear from you!

"I reached out to Sarah after thinking for a while I needed to source some additional support for my daughter who was struggling with her reading and sounds after ongoing issues with glue ear resulting in needing hearing aids and her school discussing the possibility of SEN. Reading and homework tasks were becoming so stressful and then when lockdown hit the work being sent was simply impossible to…"

Both my son and I had lost patience for home schooling during lockdown but I was so worried about him going back to school unprepared as he’s the youngest in the class and is just starting year 2. My son has absolutely loved his sessions with Sarah, choosing to continue to write sentences after the class has ended. Sarah is very engaging…"

Her support for parents and children goes above and beyond, and she is an asset to families requiring support."
"Highly recommend Sarah as a tutor. Bella, my daughter thoroughly enjoys her session. Not only does Sarah help Bella once a week with planned lessons tailored to her academic needs she is at the end of the phone day and night to help with any problems whilst homeschooling. Thank you Sarah ☺️"
"Thank you Sarah for tutoring Romilly with her Maths (Year 5) over the lockdown and Summer holidays. Romilly found the sessions very engaging and encouraging. Mum and Dad just didn’t cut it. Sarah explained each topic very clearly and Romilly particularly enjoyed the games at the end of each session which made it really fun. Invaluable sessions."
